Welcome Delegates of the 2014 IFPMWG
|

Brenda Espinoza Executive Director, IFPMWG |
It is with great pleasure that
I welcome all athletes, family and friends to The
International Fire, Police & Military Winter Games
Forth
Annual Charity Hockey Tournament, The Maine
Event/Battle on Ice, will take place at the
Androscoggin Bank Colisée, in Lewiston, Maine. It
is scheduled for the week-end of
January 17th to the 19th, with the
championship game on Sunday afternoon at 12:40pm.
Our hockey tournament is a
major fundraising event for the Shriners Hospitals
for Children–Boston. I hope that as a team we can
make a difference for the many children that are
able to be treated there from around the world. The goal of the tournament is to
raise money for this worthy cause, through an
event that gives public safety personnel across
America and beyond the opportunity for exciting
competition while making new friends in the public
safety community, sharing experiences, and having an
all-around good time. As we approach our third year,
we are working to expand the tournament in both size
and international representation. We plan to
increase awareness of the tournament, offer great
entertainment after the games, and hold a silent
auction in the lobby for players and the audience.
We hope that your team will
consider being a part of the Maine Event/ Battle on
Ice, and that the rest of your department and family
members will come to share in the excitement and
camaraderie and cheer them on. I look forward to
meeting and greeting each of you at the tournament. |

Robert E. Macdonald
Mayor of Lewiston |
As Mayor
of the City of Lewiston, congratulations upon the
planning and delivery of the
3rd Annual
International Fire, Police, & Military Winter Games.
The games bring a wealth of
energy and enthusiasm to our community and certainly
provide a fun-filled event for individuals of all
ages. It is encouraging to witness a venue filled
with sports, smiles, good conversation, and
camaraderie—all with a mission of providing
financial support to the Shriners Hospital for
Children – Boston. The Shriners Hospital is a
tremendous blessing to countless families, and the
winter games provide a wonderful opportunity for us
to look beyond ourselves and focus on the needs of
others.
In closing, thank
you to all the organizers and participants of the
2013 games, and I’m so proud that they are again
occurring within this community.
Sincerely,
Robert E.
Macdonald

Everett Kaherl, Potentate
Thank you for inviting me to represent the 2600
members of Kora Shrine as you continue your winter
games. Although I did attend the 2012 closing, it
was as a bagpiper and not as Potentate of Kora. This
year I will have the honor of being Potentate. |
